Is 25,000 DKK/mth (after tax) considered a good sa 6 Months ago
Hi,

I am from Pune, India and need your help on understating is 25,000 DKK/mth (after tax) considered a good salary for a family of 3 (myself, wife, 2 yrs old son) in Copenhagen. I got an offer from Danish company on work permit.
few details: middle class life style, mostly prefer India veg. food, etc.
Am I able to save (considering the average family living cost in Copenhagen), how much on average?

Regards,
Vivek

Being a similar family to yourself, I can say that you will need around 11,000 DKK a month for living expenses(Decent 1 or 2 bedroom house, using public transportation, etc.). If you want to put your child in daycare it would be additional 3000 DKK. Remaining all should be savings except for the trips to India unless you want to buy some fancy stuff while you are here.

Hope it helps.

Thanks Ashok.

One more question : I have checked the sites like Netto, Fakta for the house hold stuffs and the India eating like eatatbombay, buttertikka, karrysutra . Those looks more expensive. How about the Indian (south, north) grocery availability & prices.

Regards,
Vivek

Vivek - Take it easy man . You will figure out everything easily once you get here. The monthly expenses I have quoted includes the spices, vegetables, and other groceries that you need for a month. You get almost all spices here nowadays unlike 7 years ago when I came.

There are quite a few indian restaurants here, mostly north indian and pakistani and it would cost around 200 DKK for 2 people in a not so fancy restaurant.

Feel free to ask if you have any specific questions.

Just curious - which company are you coming for? you must be having some specific skills sets to be sponsored from India during this tough job market scenario.

Hi Vivek,

I agree with arianashok regarding the living and expenses here.

Anyway, I would like to know when are you expected to fly here and if your visa processing has been done already.
