f you do not know danish please do not come to denmark and do a big mistake in your life. being an indian i can now spot more than 70professional , skilled indians on green card , fighting for odd jobs like paper jobs and cleaning jobs and some even without that........and after 3 years [green card work permit is given for 3 years ]will danish government allow you to stay here doing these odd jobs???

The green card scheme was launched before the recession started with a long term objective of bringing people to Denmark to plug the skill gaps and balance the ageing work force. The Danish goverment have not suspended it as a knee jerk reaction to recession because they probably believe that recession is a temporary phenomenon and they will need these workers after the recession is over. How temporary the recession is what people have no idea about. The government does not lose much by giving you this visa. It is you who needs to somehow manage the high living expenses for the period you stay here without a job and a good part of whatever you spend goes to the government coffers as exorbitant sales taxes.

If the government can get some money from you being here and if your long term presence helps them to balance the ageing work force once the recession is over, why would they not give visas to qualified people regardless of whether jobs are available or not in short to medium term time period?
