I appreciate your 'Never Give Up' attitude. It is a very good thing to have. But one also has to be realistic. You cannot live forever in a foreign country looking for a job. While a family can survive with less than 15k per month in India, it will easily cost close to 1 Lakh rupees here in Denmark or UK. Staying for even 6 months without a job will set one back by 6 lakhs which is a huge money for people from India. Even after hearing stories about people not getting jobs here, lot of them come here with blind faith that they are special and will SOMEHOW get a job sooner or later. Worse, they are coming here after resigning their well paying jobs of over 50k INR a month. It is a huge huge risk and that's what navvod and others are trying to warn.

Yep, we can keep trying other countries no harm in it. But how long can the funds brought from India be sustained ? Hardly 3-4 months ain't it.

Plz. do not forget most of the GC holders are coming from India and it would be really tough for them to sustain high expenditures in Denmark. Companies in EU mostly take 1-2 months to process all applications and return with an answer.

Postal service to cut 2,000 jobs
Post Norden, the result of the recent fusion between Post Danmark and Sweden’s Postn AB, announced today it will be forced to cut 2,000 jobs in Sweden and Denmark.

The impending layoffs are due to a difficult 2009, according to the company, where earnings suffered as a result of both the financial crisis and the transition over to electronic mail.

Turnover at the Swedish-Danish postal giant reached approximately 34 billion kroner for the year, while operating profits were only 216 million kroner. Operating profits for Post Danmark alone in 2008 were 817 million kroner.

Friends,

I am currently in India and working in Sales and Business Development.
I have completed my MBA from Asian Institute of Management, Philippines in dec 2009.

I was contemplating to come to Denmark for work on working visa which is initially given for 3 years.

But reading the threads here, it seems its difficult to get a job in Denmark.

My question is, why is immigration open in Denmark if there is unemployment?

Your answers and advise is welcome !!

Thanks

Jitu
